Coming to St Leonard's for the first time?
Whether you've been to church before or this is your first time, you are very welcome. This page covers the practical things you might want to know in advance — so you can arrive feeling prepared.
When we meet
Traditional but informal, usually around an hour. Tea and coffee follow in the Elmdon Lounge — stay as long as feels right.
A less formal service held at least once a month. Tea, coffee and cakes are served throughout — a relaxed café feel from start to finish.
Finding us
St Leonard's Church is on Elmdon Road, Marston Green, Birmingham B37 7BT. We're a 5-minute walk from Marston Green railway station and just a couple of miles from Birmingham Airport.
Parking is free — there's a car park next to the church and additional on-street parking on Elmdon Road and the surrounding streets. Please park considerately of our neighbours.
Accessibility
- Step-free access to the main church via the main entrance, using a portable ramp.
- Hearing loop is fitted — switch your hearing aid to T-mode.
- Large-print orders of service are available — just ask the sides person who will greet you as you enter.
- Accessible toilet in the Parish Hall — speak to the sides person or Churchwardens for directions and access.
- Dementia-friendly: we're happy to support carers and family members in finding seating that works.
Children & families
Children are very welcome — wriggling, talking and laughing all included. There's a small children's corner at the back of the church with books, toys and colouring. During school holidays we sometimes run a children's Messy Church — see our What's On for dates.
What to wear
Anything — really. Some people dress up, most don't. Come as you are.
What happens in the service
The order of service is printed in full so you can follow along.
Refreshments & meeting people
After the 10 am service, tea and coffee are served in the Elmdon Lounge. It's a good chance to say hello, meet the vicar, and ask any questions. There's also a noticeboard where you can find out what's happening during the week.
